Great for smooth shots at extreme zoom lengths!

Posted by Gary Greenwood on 5th Nov 2014

I work mostly in theatres filming shows and plays, and I need a good tripod and head as I tend to be zoomed in quite tight for a lot of the time, especially on acting and singing acts. My old head was starting to stick causing jerks at extreme zooms so it was time for a new one. This head is great. It just shows how bad my old one had become because suddenly my shots are so smooth, even with such tiny movements at extreme zoom. The drag can be adjusted so that you can put as much force on the pans and tilts as you wish. I like mine quite tight because I need small movement when zoomed, and still the shots are smooth. So full marks for this head. It seems really good build and I'm hoping to get at least 5 years use out of it, but wouldn't be surprised if its nearer to 10 years.
